After 41 days (Mandalam) every devotee visits Sabarimalai. There are three routes. (1) Erumeli route takes 61 kms by foot through jungle. (2) Vandi Periyar route at 94.4 Km mile stone Kottayam to Kumili road. (3) Chelakayam route near to Pamba river. Take Sabari express get down at Kottayam / Ernakulam, then take Kerala RTC bus to Pamba which is about 100 kms. From Pamba it is a 8 kms walk to Ayyappa sannidhanam. First timers taking Mala, Jyothi darshanam compulsory. They get down at Erumali (Kerala) get get to Pamba river by walking 70 kms. Inreturn journey make it a point to visit Krishna Bhagavan at Guruvatoor, Bhagavathi at Chengannur, Amman kovil at Chotaniker, PadmanabhaSwamy at Trivandrum, Shiva at Kottayam..

Sabarimalai, It is 1200 kms from Hyderabad, through Shamsabad, Shadnagar, Jadcherla, Yenugulamarri, Gooty , Ananthapur, Palasamudram, Whitefield, Hosur, Palghat, Shelam Karoor, Pulimeda.
